Herbert Glacier

Yesterday, Steve and I biked the Herbert Glacier trail to the delta and then proceeded to hike around. After a short time of rock hopping we found ourselves working our way up to the toe of the glacier. We were not sure how far we would be able to follow the melting glacial river, but ended up finding out.

After some swift glacial melt navigation and technical rock hopping we found ourselves staring Herbert right in the eye. There was some concern with the stability of the face, so we didn’t get too close. As you can see in the video below though, we did some solid field testing, the results of which we are quite pleased with.
