All the times that I have ever had a roommate there has never been a dull moment. I have loved then, hated them, and everything in between. I have lived with one, two, three, and in the temporary time frame four, maybe even five. Some of them I chose to live with, others kind of came with the deal so to speak, but in any case there is always something to talk about. If that conversation’s not to one roommate, it is probably about them instead, as far as roommate talk is concerned that is.
Recently I have acquired a few roommates that span, not race, social circles, or geologic background, but species. Currently I have two parakeets (Fred and Ginger), a beta (Burberry), and the most recent member of my residence, Murphy, a kitten that was found under a truck on a busy street. Murphy has been here for not quite a week yet, but I would say that he likes living here quite a bit. Every day he becomes a little more comfortable.
Our sleeping arrangement for my little apartment is as follows: Fred, Ginger, and Burberry share the downstairs, while Murphy and I share the upstairs. I must admit that it is quite roomy. Though Murphy does need to get a little more proficient and going up the stairs (he’s fallen once through the space in the risers) Murphy’s bed is actually directly below mine so it is kind of like we are bunk buddies.
Basically what this all comes down to is, I’ve never owned a cat before, or a kitten for that matter. It is quite fun though. There is constant activity and a low buzz of animal sounds, just wonderful. So far these roommates would rank pretty high, but as with all roommates, only time will tell. More updates are surely to come.
The photo above is of Murphy I think the first or second night that he spent in my apartment. He was chillin’ under a chair after a ferocious game with a plastic ball containing a bell.

I bought a pack of those bell-balls they were called: Midnight Terrors. At the time I thought, “that’s a strange name for little bell-balls.” At four in the morning as the cats were batting them around like crazy I understood the product name.
