This season Eaglecrest hosted the first annual High Gravity Games in conjunction with the Alaskan Brewing Co. There were many events and festive happenings on the mountain, one of these events being the “Cold Crash Dummy”. With the Dummy having to be built with the Alaskan Brewing Co as the theme, the above picture is what the Eaglecrest rental/repair shop came up with. I’m proud to say we took first place and the bar has been set awfully high for next year.

Last night Steve and I went out the road to Sunshine Cove, about 40 miles out of town, to spend some time on the beach with friends, dogs, frisbees, a bonfire, an accordion, guitar, food, and drinks. It was almost a cloudless night with the promise of another Northern Lights show. Though we didn’t see the Aurora, there was no moon in our sky which allowed the stars to flood the darkness. A most perfect way to cap off a day after spring riding in the sunshine.

The Nut Brown is fermenting away! Check out the live airlock action above. What a glorious site to be seen. Looks like we pitched a great starter this time around. There was pressure in the airlock from the moment it was put on the carboy. The recipe had a target OG (Original Gravity) of 1044 and we ended up with 1052. Stay tuned for updates.
