After our ride in Missoula, Steve and I spun at a party in Dixon, MT. It was a birthday party for Steve’s friend Brian, who I didn’t know until that evening. The party took place in a barn/apartment on an organic farm where he works. One of the main events of the party was a chili roast, which consists of flaming a bunch of raw chilies, stufing them with cheese, battering them in eggs, covering them in cornmeal, and then pan frying them. Delicious. The next day we got a tour of the farm operation. Made me want to have my own garden. Maybe next year.

The other day my Aunty and Cousin rolled into town for a visit. I’ve been a little low energy the last few days due to a nasty cold, but tonight I was feeling a smige better and could actually taste my diner!

While growing up in Hawaii our family gathered together at my Papa and Grandma’s house almost every weekend, well at least it felt that way when I was younger. All the aunties and uncles, cousins and second cousins, it was quite the party. Spending time with family is always nice, since now a good lot of us have moved, spread across the country. I hope one day we can all come back together for at least one afternoon, to have lunch, exchange stories, laugh till the tears flow, and remember where we come from and how our past has shaped the way we all make our decisions through every day.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday and it is a tradition in our family every year to bake a multitude of food items. Sweet bread, Turkey, and, this post’s title , a bunny cake.
